Peptides Pre-Treatment Instructions
Patient Eligibility
You may be considered a candidate for peptide therapy if clinically appropriate based on your provider’s assessment and treatment goals.
You are NOT eligible if you have:
- Active or recent history of cancer
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Known allergy to peptide ingredients
Final eligibility is determined by your provider.
Required Before Starting
- Recent bloodwork within the last 6 months is required
- A full medical history and assessment must be completed
- Signed informed consent is required prior to treatment
Before Your Appointment
- Stay well hydrated
- Eat a light meal prior to your visit
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior
- Continue medications unless otherwise directed
- Your first injection will always be done in-office
- You will be monitored for at least 10 minutes after administration to ensure you tolerate the medication well
Peptides Post-Treatment Instructions
Peptide therapy is generally well tolerated, but you may experience:
- Mild injection site redness, swelling, or tenderness
- Headache
- Nausea or lightheadedness
- Dizziness
- Fatigue or changes in energy levels
- Flushing
- Palpitations
- Increased hunger or mild fluid retention (depending on peptide)
These effects are typically mild and temporary.
Dosing & Treatment Plan
- Dosing, frequency, and titration vary depending on the specific peptide
- Your provider will create a personalized plan based on your goals and response
- Do not adjust your dose unless instructed
How to Inject (At-Home Patients)
Subcutaneous Injection (most common):
- Wash hands thoroughly
- Clean injection site (abdomen, thigh, or back of arm) with alcohol
- Pinch the skin
- Insert needle at a 90° angle
- Inject slowly and steadily
- Remove needle and dispose in a sharps container
Important:
- Rotate injection sites to prevent irritation
- Use a new needle and syringe each time
When to Contact Us
Please contact the office if you experience:
- Persistent nausea, headaches, or dizziness
- Significant swelling or irritation at the injection site
- Unusual fatigue or changes in how you feel
- Any new or concerning symptoms
Seek emergency care if you experience:
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe swelling
- Signs of an allergic reaction
Follow-Up & Monitoring
- Regular follow-ups are required to assess:
- Response to treatment
- Side effects
- Dose adjustments
- Ongoing lab monitoring may be recommended depending on the peptide used
