NAD+ Pre-Treatment Instructions

  • Baseline bloodwork is required within the last 6 months prior to starting treatment
  • Stay well hydrated the day before and day of your appointment
  • Eat a light meal or snack before your visit (do not come in fasted)
  • Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your injection
  • Continue your regular medications unless otherwise directed
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your abdomen or upper arm

Please notify your provider before your appointment if you:

  • Are feeling unwell, dehydrated, or dizzy
  • Have a history of sensitivity to injections
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have any new or significant medical conditions

First visit only:

  • Plan to remain in the office for at least 10 minutes after your initial injection for monitoring

What to Expect

You may experience mild, temporary side effects such as:

  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Mild redness or tenderness at the injection site

These symptoms are typically short-lived and resolve within 1–3 days.

How to Minimize Side Effects

  • Stay well hydrated
  • Eat balanced meals with adequate protein
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after your injection
  • Use over-the-counter pain relief if needed (unless contraindicated)
  • Resume normal activity as tolerated

Injection Site Care

  • Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness is normal
  • You may apply a cold compress if needed
  • Avoid excessive touching or irritation of the area

Dosing & Titration Schedule

Your dose will be gradually increased based on your tolerance and response:

  • 5 units (10 mg) twice weekly
  • 10 units (20 mg) twice weekly
  • 15 units (30 mg) twice weekly
  • 20 units (40 mg) twice weekly
  • 25 units (50 mg) twice weekly
Treatment Duration

  • Initial phase: typically 2–3 injections per week for up to 12 weeks
  • After 12 weeks, a 2–3 month break is required
  • Maintenance may include monthly injections or periodic cycles depending on your goals

When to Contact Us

Please contact the office if you experience:

  • Nausea: Often reported with higher dosesSevere swelling
  • Headache: mild to moderate
  • Fatigue or Drowsiness: Temporary tiredness may occur post-infusion
  • Flushing and Warmth: A sensation of warmth or skin flushing
  • Muscle Cramps or Tension: Some individuals report mild muscle discomfort or cramps
  • Chest Pressure: A feeling of chest tightness or pressure can occur but is generally mild
  • Increased Heart Rate: Mild tachycardia or a rapid heartbeat may be felt during treatment
  • Anxiety or Restlessness: In some cases, people feel temporary anxiety or restlessness, possibly due to the stimulating effect of NAD+ on the brain and body

At-Home Injection Patients (if applicable)

  • Store medication in the refrigerator and protect from light
  • Always use clean injection technique
  • Follow your prescribed dosing schedule exactly
  • Attend monthly follow-ups for monitoring
