Post-Treatment Care
Hyperdilute Radiesse Post-Treatment Instructions
Hyperdilute Radiesse works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production over time. Mild, temporary side effects are expected as your skin heals and remodels.
1 . What to Expect After Treatment
Common and expected reactions include:
- Mild to moderate swelling
- Redness or warmth
- Tenderness or soreness
- Bruising
- Firmness or fullness at injection sites
These effects typically improve within a few days to 1–2 weeks, depending on the treatment area and individual healing response
2. Activity and Movement
- Resume normal daily activities the same day.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or intense workouts for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid excessive stretching or pressure on the treated area for 48 hours.
3. Massage and Touching the Area
- Do not massage or manipulate the treated area unless specifically instructed by your provider.
- Avoid tight clothing, shapewear, or compression garments over the area for 24–48 hours, unless otherwise directed.
4. Pain, Swelling, and Bruising Care
- Cold compresses may be applied intermittently for the first 24 hours to reduce swelling or discomfort.
- Bruising is a temporary and typically subsides within 5-7 days depending on the age and health of a patient. Topical arnica ointment or cream and oral Bromelain supplements will assist in breaking up a bruise to dissipate faster.
- Acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be used if needed.
- Avoid NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) and alcohol for 24–48 hours, unless medically necessary.
- Sleep with the treated area elevated when possible during the first night.
5. Skin Care
- Keep the treated area clean and dry.
- Avoid touching the injected areas or using sponges, makeup brushes, etc., which could harbor bacteria and spread infection, for at least 8 hours after treatment.
- You may shower the same day unless otherwise instructed.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or very hot showers for 24–48 hours.
- Avoid exfoliating products, retinoids, or irritating skincare on the treated area for 5–7 days.
6. Sun and Heat Exposure
- Avoid excessive sun exposure and heat for 7 days.
- Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+ or higher) if the treated area is exposed.
- Avoid tanning beds and self-tanners until swelling and redness have resolved.
7. Results Timeline
- Hyperdilute Radiesse does not provide immediate volumizing results.
- Collagen stimulation develops gradually over 6–12 weeks.
- Continued improvement may be seen for several months.
- Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended depending on the treatment area and goals.
8. When to Contact the Office
Please contact the clinic immediately if you experience:
- Increasing pain, swelling, or redness after the first few days
- Signs of infection (warmth, spreading redness, drainage, fever)
- Skin color changes, blanching, or severe tenderness
- Firm nodules, asymmetry, or concerns that do not improve
9. Follow-Up
- Follow-up visits or photos may be scheduled to assess progress
- Your provider will advise when additional sessions can be performed if needed.
