TruSculpt ID Pre and Post Care
Pre-Treatment Instructions
- 2 weeks before: Discontinue sunless tanners in the treatment area(s).
- 24–48 hours before: Shave any hair in the treatment area and the return pad area
(usually upper back) so the pads have full contact with the skin. Excess hair can
interfere with the treatment.
- Stay well hydrated (aim for plenty of water the day before and day of treatment).
- Arrive with clean, dry skin. Do not apply any lotions, creams, oils, powders, self-
tanners, or numbing medications to the treatment area or upper back. - Remove any body piercings or jewelry near or under the treatment area.
- Eat a light meal and drink fluids before your appointment.
- Notify the clinic of any changes in your health, medications, or medical history since
your last visit. - Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Post-Treatment Instructions
What to expect:
- Mild redness, warmth, and swelling are normal and usually resolve within a few
hours to a few days. - Tender nodules or lumps may appear in the treated area up to 72 hours after
treatment. These typically resolve over several weeks. - Fat cell destruction continues slowly over the next 8–12 weeks. Visible results often
begin around 6 weeks, with full results at about 12 weeks.
What to do:
- You may return to normal daily activities, including exercise, right away. Light
activity or walking within the first 72 hours can help with lymphatic drainage. - Drink plenty of water over the next few days to support the body’s natural
elimination of destroyed fat cells. - If nodules develop, gently massage them for 2–5 minutes twice daily to help them resolve faster.
- Maintain a healthy diet and stable weight to optimize and preserve results.
- Multiple treatments may be needed depending on your goals.
What to avoid:
- Excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs, very hot showers) for 24–48 hours.
- Applying creams, lotions, or gels to the treated area or return pad site for the first 24
hours (to avoid irritation). - Optional: Minimize anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin,
etc.) if possible during the first few days/weeks, as this may help optimize results.
Consult your healthcare provider before stopping any prescribed medication.
Contact the clinic immediately if you experience:
- Blisters, crusting, or skin burns
- Tenderness, redness, or swelling that lasts longer than a few days
- Nodules or lumps that remain tender or last longer than 4 weeks
